The HSE website is a useful starting point for finding out more about health and safety at work. Contained within this website are a number of free leaflets which provide guidance on a range of different health and safety topics including health and safety regulation, setting up a health and safety policy and risk assessment.

From our experience, the best way to develop a lasting health and safety culture is to involve people from all levels within the organisation. This may be done by forming a health and safety committee or through some other forum. Planning is also crucial to ensure health and safety improvement. A health and safety plan needs to be developed based on risk. This plan should then be monitored and reviewed on a regular basis.
